SSBT taking the past and moving it into the future!

In its pursuit to expand its scope and help more students reach their career goals, SSBT has opened a second campus at 600 George Street in the CBD opposite Event Cinemas and just a minute’s walk from Town Hall Station. The new campus has been found in time for the New Year and we will be operating two popular courses there initially. The BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management and the BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management will start 2018 off with a bang!
Formally named the Plaza Theatre, the listed building was built in 1930 as a premier cinema and showed movies until 1977. The foyer was converted to a McDonald’s and the auditorium was converted to a skating rink, concert venue and restaurant. In 1995 the auditorium became Planet Hollywood for a time and now The Star Bar.
It was built in the classic Spanish Mission style and is particularly notable for its external Baroque detailing. The majority of the interior detailing has been lost since the building’s demise as a cinema although fine remnants remain in the McDonald’s restaurant that is now in sections of the original foyer.

It now has five floors and a basement, and SSBT will be situated on the second floor in a modern environment purposely designed for education. It is only minutes’ walk from Town Hall station and close to Chinatown and many amenities.
SSBT is one of Australia’s longest registered CRICOS training organization, entering its 18th year of operation. SSBT has enabled thousands of international students to, not only secure their residency in Australia by way of providing educational pathways with nationally recognized qualifications, but also opened real opportunities to allow students to become contributors to our economy through full time employment.

Study Online – Anywhere, anytime, at your own pace!

Australian students are choosing to study online and the trend increases year by year across all areas in each state. This trend is yielding significant benefits not only to vocational students but also to professionals who either aim to seek professional development or shift to a new career.

Online learning has skyrocketed market share in the education industry. High school and college degree graduates, working professionals, business owners, and parents at home comprise of a large number of online learning students.

The convenience of studying anywhere at any time, at your own pace is an advantage. For most students, they enjoy the advantage of being able to check their lessons, do their assessments, research, and interact with others in their class at their own pace and time. There is no need for any major adjustments whether they are working, taking care of their children, or running a business as they can definitely combine these with studying. Online learning according to them is easier to balance and convenient, which is why most are also able to complete their courses on time or even earlier; in other words it’s so flexible.

They can now pick from Advanced Diplomas or Diplomas courses to Certificate or short courses in several area including: Accounting, Business, Management, Hospitality and Early Childhood Education & Care

SSBT offers student support service where a dedicated team of support staff provide assistance to online students. Services may range from giving advice to students about their studies, course progress, administrative matters, work placement, and more. Assistance may come in the form of phone calls, sms, emails, and chat. The aim of that support is for students to get extra help for them to stay on track to be able to successfully complete their course.

3 seconds is all it takes…

As I have said numerous times, securing your next role is like playing a game. Great competitors not only know the rules of the game they play, but they also get to know their opponents very well. They get know their weaknesses, strengths and how they think.
Before a boxer (a great boxer that is) gets in the ring he has spent hundreds of hours getting to know his opponent and understanding how he plays the game. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and enters the ring with unshakable confidence.
I have spent over 20 years in the corporate ‘ring’, 12 of those in Executive level positions, having interviewed and hired [or not] many candidates. As your Employ ME Master Coach, I want to reveal to you what really goes on inside the mind of an interviewer.
My background has always been in Sales and Marketing. One thing you learn about consumer behaviour, is that you generally have about 3 seconds, before the consumer has made a judgement on whether they are interested in your product or not. For the most part, this happens subconsciously, evolution has programmed the brain to do this, mainly for survival purposes.
Remember, every time you send a resume or about to go into an interview, you are marketing/advertising yourself. Think of it this way, your resume is your ‘brochure’ and you are the ‘product’.
So I ask you, how ‘attractive’ is your brochure? How ‘attractive’ are you?
Generally speaking, within 3 seconds your ‘customer’ (AKA interviewer) has made their mind up whether your resume is worth reading or how much time the interview should last.
So make sure your cover letter and resume have the ‘edge’. Make it PHENOMENAL, not just ‘good’ or ‘great’. Make sure you look AMAZING at interview, the best you can.
In upcoming blogs I will give you some tips on how to do this.
